Maniki has extensive experience in the financial services sector with stints in both banking and insurance. The early part of his career was spent at both FnB and Nedcor before joining the insurance sector, where he has been actively involved for 21 years, gaining exposure through independent insurers, brokers and in-house insurance companies.
He has held several senior management roles within the sector, including General Executive Manager at Glenrand MIB Insurance Brokers, where he also served as a pension fund trustee; Chief Commercial Officer at AEON Risk Services responsible for business development throughout Africa; and CEO of the French-owned COFACE Insurance Company.
In his current role as Managing Director of Land Bank’s Insurance Companies – life and short-term, he is driving the development of innovative agricultural insurance products to cover all segments of the farming community, from subsistence farmers through to large commercial farmers. These insurance solutions serve as an enabler for clients to also access agricultural funding from the likes of Land Bank. Maniki’s role also entails keeping LBIC/LBLIC focussed on addressing both existing and developing insurance market failures.
