Who W​​​e Are​

Our mandate is to identify market failure, transform the industry and find insurance solution in mitigating risks our clients face within South Africa.

As a subsidiary of Land and Agricultural Bank of South Africa, we are a State Owned Entity reporting to our shareholder National Treasury. We have two (2) insurance licences, for life and non-life insurance. We are regulated by Financial Sector Conduct (FSCA) and Prudential Authority and our main objective is to provide insurance solutions in the agriculture sector within boarders of South Africa.

LBIC and LBLIC exist to fulfil the objectives of the Land Bank, as envisaged in the Land Bank Act, tasked to provide insurance and risk management solutions to the Agricultural Sector.

The vision is to be sustainable specialist insurers of agricultural risks in support of the objectives in the Agricultural Sector.

We have almost 70 years’ experience in life insurance and over a decade providing non-life insurance solutions with tailor made offerings suitable for our farmers. We are a trusted and reputable insurance company in the Agriculture industry offering credit life products, crop and agri assets insurance. 

With 24 agricultural financial centres and satellite offices across the country, the Land and Agricultural Bank of South Africa’s nationwide footprint and resources enable provision of our insurance services to the whole country.​
