Cassim has extensive experience in the financial services sector and his tenure spans over 18 years. He started his career at Discovery and after occupying several positions over a five-year period he moved on to other organisations such as NMG Benefits and Hollard. He has varied experience in senior management, dealing with long-term and short-term insurance products. He was exposed to both domestic and international insurance markets. His international experience ranges from markets in neighbouring Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini and further afield. He spent nearly two years in Indonesia in the capacity of Head of Sales Operations in a joint venture partnership between Hollard International and Tokio Marine Insurance Group. He was responsible for direct sales operations across 16 cities in the country. Upon his return to South Africa, he resumed his role as General Manager. Prior to joining Land Bank he was in consulting and advisory services where he provided bespoke solutions to Financial Services Providers in the insurance sales and distribution arena.

Cassim completed his regulatory examinations in 2013 and has acted as Key Individual for various FSPs prior to him joining the Land Bank Insurance Company.
