Qualifications: B,Agric Admin degree from the University of the North, MDP, and a Master’s in Business Leadership from Unisa.
Andries brings with him an impressive 37 years of experience across the agriculture, insurance, and reinsurance sectors. He joins us from Santam, where he spent the last 7 years and 4 months as Business Development Manager for the Rest of Africa, responsible for business development across the continent (excluding South Africa) and managing reinsurance for the Agri Crop Division. Prior to Santam, Andries held various senior roles over a 15-year tenure at Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa, concluding as Manager for Agriculture, Surety, Contingency, and Facultative business.
His career spans several key institutions including Heifer International South Africa, Limpopo Agriculture and Rural Development Corporation, and the Development Bank of Southern Africa. He previously served as Chairperson of the Agricultural Technical Committee of the South African Insurance Association, and he is a proud Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa.
